Contact Langjokull Tours
Questions about what a fare covers, which departure point suits where you are staying, or anything we have got wrong — write and we will answer.
The quickest route is hello@langjokulltours.com, and most messages get an answer within a day. For anything about a booking you have already made, your operator will be faster than we can be.
What we can help with
- Which tours put you on the ice, which take you inside it, and which only reach the edge.
- The licence and age rules, which differ from operator to operator by a wide margin.
- Pickup points, and whether a departure works from where you are staying.
- Anything on these pages that has gone out of date — the mountain-road season in particular, which shifts by a fortnight from one year to the next.
What we cannot do
We are not a tour operator and we do not run the ice tunnel. Bookings, changes, refunds and questions about a specific departure go to the operator you booked with, whose details are on your confirmation. See the affiliate disclosure for how this works.
Langjokull glacier
Name
Langjökull — Iceland’s second-largest glacier
Address
The ice cap has none. The western check-in for the ice tunnel is at Húsafell, 311 Borgarbyggð, Iceland; the southern departures meet at the upper Gullfoss car park, 806 Bláskógabyggð.
Hours
None. There is no gate and no admission charge. Tour departure times are set by each operator, and the mountain road to the western base camp is open from June to mid-October.
Most questions are already answered on the FAQs page, and the practical detail sits on visitor information.
